What will I get?

  • 3 days a week of timetabled lessons and vocational training at the College plus 2 days a week work placement (Year 11)

  • vocational training in modern, well equipped workshops

  • "on the job" work placement with qualified trade-persons

  • exposure to a variety of industry workplaces, which may lead to a school based apprenticeship or traineeship

  • where you complete all the requirements, a non-ATAR Higher School Certificate

  • access to additional learning support and wellbeing support to help you achieve your goals.

The Hunter Trade College provides:

  •  a 2 year Major Trade program in a vocational qualification.  Students undertaking the 2 year program may achieve a Certificate I or II qualification; plus

  • a 1 year Minor Trade program in a vocational qualification.  Students undertaking the 1 year program may achieve a Statement of Attainment toward a Certificate I or II qualification

  • a 2 year pathway to achieve the HSC

  • a 2 year pathway that provides between 100 and 144 days industry experience or employment as a school based apprentice / trainee (SBAT). The duration of industry experience depends on which trade the student is undertaking.
